Great content needs to load quickly, especially when a visitor is coming to you from a search engine and may have several other sites they want to look at too. Slow loading pages could cause your visitors to hit the Back button very quickly.

Our CMS service has a number of features to make sure your content loads as fast as possible, even for graphics-heavy web sites.

Fast Hosting

We host sites on high performance servers with fast internet connections. The powerful servers compress content before it is sent to your visitors, reducing the effects of a slow or busy internet connection between the server and the visitor.

All of our server software is fully tuned to make sure that it runs quickly and efficiently. Application code is optimised and frequently used files and database queries are stored cached in fast memory - ready to fly down the wire to your next visitor.

We provide both dedicated and shared hosting. Rest assured that if you only require shared hosting we never overload our web servers with too many web sites or make low traffic web sites compete against high traffic sites for a slice of the resources.

Fast Image Processing

Any automated image processing is carried out using fast and efficient code. The end result of the processing is stored in a cache ready for the next time a visitor needs it, making it load even faster.

Intelligent Javascript

Our CMS includes a simple to use lightweight javascript library that provides key functionality without restoring to jQuery, Prototype or other large Javascript libraries. You can, of course, use these if you want to though.

We can load Google Analytics code without ever slowing down the site for your visitors and have functions which will help you apply additional, advanced styling and behaviour as soon as the browser is able to.

Judicious use of Javascript for additional images or flash content will allow users on slower internet connections to see your web site load quickly.

Intelligent Use of the Internet

There are systems spread across the internet which can help speed up web sites and it's surprising how often we see web sites and content management systems that don't take advantage of them. 

Our CMS is able to make aggressive use of browser and proxy server caches on the internet, storing copies of content and images even if your web site makes use of Cookies for your javascript behaviours or statistics software such as Google Analytics. 

Making the most of caches in this way means that repeat visits from the same visitors or from visitors within the same company or who use the same ISP can see the content load faster, using a copy that is already stored near to or even inside their computer.

We automatically detect when content or site assets have been updated to prevent users from seeing stale items held in these caches.
