Typography for the Web
Typography is the art of arranging text, it's typeface, position, colour and it's relationship with other items of text and images.
We work hard to design web sites with great legibility and that are easy to read. The majority of content on the web - and your web site - is written language. We design sites where the content is divided up and organised to make it easy to read or use, while at the same time making it stylish and re-enforcing your brand.
Good typography is more than just choosing a typeface though this is an important part of the process. A classical font will show a stronger personality, while modern fonts tend to be cleaner, lighter and more neutral.
Typography for the web operates by a different set of rules than print. The media presents both limitations and improvements over print, not to mention that your readers have far more control over the typography themselves. It's important to acknowledge and embrace these differences.
The fonts available on your visitor's computers vary widely, depending on their operating system and any applications they may have installed such as Microsoft Office. Web browsers allow users to resize the text on web pages or to magnify an entire page. Some of your visitors will set a minimum font size and others may or may not have support for images, flash or javascript techniques used to add additional typographic control to web sites.
Our talented designers and developers create flexible typographic styles for web sites that are incredibly effective no matter what browsers your visitors use.
