CMS
Take control of your web site by using our Content Management System and make updates to your content any time you feel like it.
hum's CMS makes it easy for non-technical people to update their own web site. We provide you with WYSIWYG text editing and facilities to upload images and other files to your web site.
The ability to update your web site is password protected, making sure that your site is secure and that only you and your colleagues are able to make any changes.
The CMS uses a clean and simple design, separated out by the type of content you are editing. Anyone with some experience of using desktop computers and browsing the web will find it very easy to use, especially any one familiar with Microsoft® Word.
In the future, as your needs change, you may decide to have the site redesigned. The CMS helps to protect your investment by keeping the cost of future redesigns down. When new templates are added the Pages section will automatically adjust itself to accommodate them. New areas of the site can be created in the Paths section, and the navigation is controlled from the Menus section.
We always customise and tailor your Content Managed web site, so that if fits your needs perfectly, whether you want a website CMS or Intranet CMS. Often we combine Content Management facilities with ecommerce and CRM facilities.
Here are a selection of the features most popular with our clients to give you an idea of what's possible.
Pages
Pages of content are the staple of any CMS, and we've made sure it's super easy to add, edit and delete pages. Choose from one of the available layout templates (or create a new one) and then simply fill in the blanks with your text, images and files.
Templates
Templates provide snippets of HTML used to layout and structure your content. These allow you present information to your visitors in a number of different ways. We take care of creating your templates based on the design of your web site. Changing the templates is simple and helps your site to move with the times.
Enquiries
An Enquiries system will allow users to send messages to you directly through your web site, by filling in a form in a web page. All different sorts of enquiry systems can be provided, from forms for general enquiries to Customer Satisfaction Surveys.
Keep track of enquiries from your users with in your web site, or simply have enquiries forwarded to an email address of your choosing. What ever your requirements; customer feedback, surveys, reservations, general enquiries; the Enquiries system makes it easy for your visitors to contact you.
Mailing List
A Mailing List system will provide visitors with a simple and convenient way to pass you their email address, so that you can keep them informed of promotions or new products. To help reassure visitors and to protect them from spam emails, the mailing list system has two important features: A simple verification step to be completed before an address is added to the list; and a simple and obvious way to remove an address from the list.
Your mailing list is made a very valuable resource due to the way your audience can easily add or remove themselves – you know you are contacting people who are genuinely interested in what you have to say. Of course, you have complete control over the list and can add and remove addresses manually at any time.
The list can be exported and imported in a CSV file format (compatible with all leading spreadsheet packages, including Microsoft® Excel). When carrying out an import the new addresses will be merged with the existing addresses, you won’t have any duplicates. You may also choose to completely overwrite the existing list with the newly imported addresses.
hum can use your mailing list with one of our trusted partners to handle creating and sending messages to the addresses on your list. As part of this service, we use advanced techniques to prevent your message being accidentally marked as spam and to detect email addresses that no longer exist and only serve to clutter your mailing list.
Paths
Organise your content in to a structured hierarchy to help both visitors and Search Engines to understand your content. Using our Paths system you can make the URLs of the site memorable and give an indication of the subjects to be found in that area.
Menus
The Menus section gives you complete control over the navigation menus for your web site. When you create new sections of the site you can create links to pages for that section. The Menus section lets you chose the link text and the order in which the links will be displayed. Menus can be combined to form nested or sub menus, to help when your site has a lot of content.
Authorisation
The Authorisation section of the CMS allows creation of user accounts for editing and controlling the CMS. Groups of users can be defined with permissions linked to the various modules and systems in your site. This allows you to delegate the responsibilities for updating your site while still keeping in control.
Glossary of Terms
The Glossary section will allow you to enter definitions for terms relating to your industry. Terms can be grouped in to categories in order to provide clear navigation for your visitors. A large amount of descriptive text can be added to each term. The Glossary is not only very beneficial to your Visitors but can work wonders on people's impression of you and goes miles with Search Engines.
Photo Galleries
Photo Galleries are great when you have many photos that you'd like to show your visitors. The Photo Galleries provide a familiar way to present large amounts of photos including information such as captions, dates and locations. We can also integrate your photo galleries with other sections of your web site.
Photo Management
The Photo Management system provides a central repository of all images for the web site and integrates with the other parts of your Content Management System.
Once uploaded photos can be edited in a number of ways including rotating, resizing and cropping – all through a simple web interface.
Tools are included to aid with organising and categorising the photos held in the system, and these will help you to find photos when editing Pages, Photo Galleries and other types of content.
